Commutes vary by day and by hour, so use these as a starting point, and always drive the route yourself at the time you would really travel before you commit to a home.
The most common west-side commute I talk buyers through. In clear traffic it is about half an hour door to door; the same drive stacked up in weekday rush runs longer, so time it at the hour you will really drive.
