The First 7 Days of Your Listing Matter More Than the Next 70

When your home hits the market, there's a brief window of maximum attention. Buyers' agents are watching for new listings. Active buyers have saved searches set to notify them. The MLS gives new listings premium placement. That window is about 7 days.

Why the First Week Matters

New listings get the most traffic, the most showings, and the most interest in their first week. After that, the curve drops off sharply. If your home is priced right, presented well, and marketed actively, you should see strong activity in those first 7 days.

What Should Happen in Week One

  • Multiple showing requests within the first 48 hours
  • Feedback from at least 5–10 qualified buyers
  • At least one offer (in a balanced or seller's market)
  • Clear signals about whether the pricing is right

When Week One Is Quiet

If your listing goes live and the first week is silent, something needs to change immediately. Either the price is off, the photos aren't compelling, or the marketing isn't reaching the right buyers. This is not the time to "wait and see." This is the time to adjust.

My Approach

I prepare everything before your home goes live — professional photography, strategic pricing, pre-launch marketing to active buyers' agents, and a launch plan designed to maximize that critical first week. We don't leave the first week to chance.
